Perth Glory came from behind to post a hard-fought 2-1 win over state league side Armadale FC on Sunday.
Second-half goals from Branko Jelic and Jamie Harnwell cancelled out Jason Goodwin’s opener on 19 minutes.
Coach Dave Mitchell was happy to get a full game into his squad in the build-up to the A-League season, and only four days after his side returned from a pre-season camp in China.
“It was a good 90 minute blow-out for us,” he said.
“We-ve had a few games around 60 minutes so it was important to play the full 90.”
Glory keeper Aleks Vrteski lined up for Armadale in the clash, and denied his A-League team-mates time and again in the hit out.
The Glory trailed at the half-time break, but pulled a goal back through Jelic, who was on the end of a Naum Sekulovski cross.
Harnwell then sealed the result with a header ten minutes from time, the assist was courtesy of Mile Sterjovski.
The Glory-s first game of the 2010/11 A-League season is against North Queensland Fury on Friday, August 6 at nib Stadium (formerly ME Bank stadium).
