The independent Match Review Panel – consisting of Barry Such (Chair), Simon Micallef and Alan Davidson – convened to consider the incidents from Round 16:
Red Card issued to Emmanuel Muscat (Wellington Phoenix FC): The MRP have proposed a three (3) match suspension for his R2 Red Card for “Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball)” in the the 57th minute. This is an additional one (1) match to the minimum sanction for this offence under the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations. The player has until 12.00pm AEDT Tuesday, 1 December 2009, to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.
Football Federation Australia further advises that Wellington Phoenix have been charged with the following Team Misconduct offence:
Team Misconduct under the Disciplinary Regulations – Club’s participants collectively showing dissent towards a match official. Wellington Phoenix have unitl COB Wednesday, 2 December 2009, to respond.
