Marianna Tabain walked away with the goal of the season in the inaugural year of the Westfield W-League.

Her stunning strike against Adelaide United in Round 9 was just reward for the hard work the talented 17-year-old has put in with Perth Glory during the inaugural Westfield W-League season.

Tabain played eight games and scored four goals and at 16 during the season, a good indication that exciting times are ahead for the West Australian.

Tabain is sure to be a central figure for the Westfield Young Matildas over the next few years.

What player Female/Male do you most admire and why: Cristiano Ronaldo because of his confidence, skills and ability to use both feet. He is an exciting player to watch. Collette, because of her vision, technique and creativity.

What would your ultimate football experience be as a player: To play for Australia (Matildas) and make a living out of football

Career Highlight to date: Winning Goal of the Season in Westfield W-League 08 and scoring my first international goal in New Zealand

Most memorable match played in and why: Australia v Iran because I scored and assisted. Thought it was one of my better games, representing Australia.

What got you into football: My dad and brother

Describe the Westfield W-League: Great experience playing against international and experienced players. Good to have the exposure and compare yourself with other players.

Outside of football, what do you enjoy most: Hanging with friends, beach, tennis
