Football Federation Australia (FFA) made the decision this evening to abandon the Round 12 Westfield W-League 2018/19 fixture between Canberra United and Melbourne Victory at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan due to the proximity of lightning activity to the match venue.
Under the FFA Thunderstorm and Lightning guidelines, play was suspended in the 16th minute of the match due to lightning activity close to the venue.

Following a delay of 30 minutes, the lightning activity was still deemed to be local and was still local after 53 minutes following the suspension of play.
Based on these observations, the weather forecast and with player, support staff and match officials welfare in mind, the decision was made to abandon the match and reschedule.
