What a great way to end Round 17 of the Hyundai A-League as third meets fourth, with Sydney FC hosting Melbourne City at Jubilee Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
While both sides are well-placed heading towards the final third of the season, they are each coming off last-start defeats.
The Blues were perhaps a little unfortunate to go down 2-1 against Melbourne Victory, while a wasteful City conceded early to lose 1-0 to Wellington Phoenix.

So both clubs will want to get back in the winners’ circle quickly, giving this clash extra importance.
It’s a big opportunity for Steve Corica’s Sydney FC. They don’t just have the chance to pull eight points clear of City on the ladder, but also keep the heat on the top two.
But if Warren Joyce’s men can take all three points home with them, they remain on the heels of the Hyundai A-League summit.
City, who have lost their last two away matches in the Hyundai A-League, could rely on the goals of Lachlan Wales in this one, with the youngster scoring two of their last three goals on the road.
It was a comfortable 3-0 win for Sydney FC when these two met way back in Round 3, with Adam Le Fondre bagging a brace.
Key Opta stats

- City have conceded just two goals within the final 15-minutes of games this Hyundai A-League season, the fewest of any team in the competition.
