Having had the opportunity to share the pitch with Brosque during his last season with the Sky Blues also led to a number of Steve Corica’s squad to continue the tributes.
One of the best players and teammates I’ve been lucky enough to play alongside of, but undoubtedly the best captain. Also proof that a good haircut and a thick beard can transform any man into one of the greats. Thanks for everything skipper. #GOAT #ThanksBrosquey https://t.co/e3DqR8VqLP

Brosque has left an indelible impact with all aspects of football during his career, with members of the media also lavishing praise on the 21-cap Caltex Socceroos attacker.
Congrats Alex Brosque on a wonderful career. @SydneyFC all-time games and goals record holder. Two time championship winner, three time Sydney player of the year. 21 time Socceroo. Above all a ripping bloke and superb ambassador for the game.

As Australian football prepares to bid Alex Brosque farewell, I’d like to offer my thanks to him for being the consummate professional and an absolute gentleman during my years on the sidelines. A genuine and humble lad who always conducted himself with class. #ThanksBrosquey https://t.co/yvDdFepyz9
