There was some outstanding performers in Hyundai A-League engine rooms in 2018/19 but few gripped the nation like Japanese legend Keisuke Honda.
The former AC Milan schemer produced masterclass after masterclass for Melbourne Victory on his way to creating a team-high 42 chances and seven assists.
Neil Kilkenny pulled the strings expertly to provide the platform for Perth Glory’s attacking stars while new Australian citizen Isaias kept Adelaide United ticking with composure, intelligence and consistent execution.
A key reason behind Sydney FC’s Grand Final triumph was the steely partnership between Josh Brillante and Brandon O’Neill. The latter led the league in total passes.
The Hyundai A-League was also illuminated by the creative displays of Western Sydney Wanderers playmaker Alexander Baumjohann and Wellington Phoenix’s teen sensation Sarpreet Singh.
