Canberra United Westfield W-League defender Karly Roestbakken is a contender for this year’s CBR People’s Sporting Champion.
Roestbakken is a nominee after a superb 12 months with both Canberra United as well as the Westfield Matildas.

The teenager, who began her footballing career at local club Monaro Panthers, has had a meteoric rise in recent years which hit another peak ahead of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Roestbakken was called into Ante Milicic’s squad just before the tournament in France to replace the injured Laura Alleway.
And she excelled, coming on in injury time of the epic win against Brazil for her senior international debut before playing the full 90 minutes in the crucial final pool game against Jamaica.
The People’s Sporting Champion is presented by Canberra Milk will be awarded to Canberra’s favourite local sportsperson chosen by the people of Canberra.
The People’s Sporting Champion presented by Canberra Milk $5000 Prize Voucher will be awarded by random draw to a school or registered sporting as part of the voting for the People’s Sporting Champion campaign.
