Victory provide Nabbout update after hamstring injury against Roar

Melbourne Victory say Andrew Nabbout could miss “several weeks” of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season due to a hamstring injury.

Nabbout limped out of Friday night’s 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar less than 15 minutes after scoring the match-winning goal.

He was substituted 10 minutes before half-time at Suncorp Stadium after feeling a slight pull in his right hamstring.

Victory provided an update on Nabbout’s injury on Monday.

“It’s a real shame particularly as Andrew has had a strong beginning to his season and is a starting player,” General Manager Football Operations Paul Trimboli said on Victory’s official website.

“He has undertaken scans [on Monday] and at this stage we expect Andrew to miss several weeks.

“We’ll manage his recovery now week-by-week – keeping in mind the length of the season – to ensure he is 100% fit when he returns to the pitch.”

While Victory didn’t put an exact time-frame on Nabbout’s return, he is certainly out of Saturday night’s Melbourne Derby against Western United FC.

The match will be played at Marvel Stadium, kicking off at 7.30pm AEDT.
