City lose in-form Maclaren to hamstring injury

Melbourne City striker Jamie Maclaren is set to miss a month of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season with a hamstring injury.

Maclaren confirmed on his Instagram account on Monday that he suffered a slight tear in his hamstring in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Western United FC.

City later confirmed their star attacker will be out for “four to five” weeks.

Maclaren has been in sublime form so far this season, scoring four goals in just two appearances in the Hyundai A-League.

He backed up his double against Adelaide United in Round 2 with another match-winning brace for 10-man City against United at GMHBA Stadium.

He also scored six goals in the club’s run to the FFA Cup Final 2019.

Maclaren took his goal-scoring exploits into the Caltex Socceroos as well, scoring four goals in two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nepal and Chinese Taipei.

City are at home in Round 4, taking on Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park on Sunday, November 4.
