Melbourne City have moved to lock-down talented Stefan Colakovski to the club, extending his contract for a further two seasons.
The 19-year-old has also been elevated to the club’s senior Hyundai A-League list.
It’s a huge show of faith in the talented youngster, who was originally added to the City’s Scholarship roster in November.
He made his debut in the Round 4 win over Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park and has gone on to get game time against Central Coast Mariners, Brisbane Roar and Newcastle Jets.
“We’re incredibly proud to have one of our Academy products sign an extended deal with our senior squad which is testament to the hard work from both Stefan and our Academy staff,” City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said.
“Stefan has stepped up over the past 12 months, taking his opportunity with the senior side to establish himself as one of the exciting, young prospects coming through at the club.”
Colakovski has spent the last three seasons as part of City’s academy system, representing the club in the Foxtel Y-League and Victorian National Premier Leagues competitions.
But after impressing coach Erick Mombaerts in his brief cameos this season, he has earned a senior deal to keep him in sky blue until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 Season.
Young flyer Stefan Colakovski has committed to the club for the next two seasons. Congrats, Stef! 👏
