Hyundai A-League Premiership winner Bernie Ibini is back in Australia, reuniting with Carl Robinson at Newcastle Jets.
Ibini, 27, played under the recently-appointed Newcastle stalwart Robinson at Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps
The twice-capped Australian international will join the Hunter Valley club for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.
“To have the chance to return to Australia and link up with Carl once again is fantastic, and I’m really pleased to have signed here in Newcastle,” Ibini said.
“I’ve been training hard on my own for a little while now, I’m feeling fit and I’m really excited to get back into a team environment and push for a spot in that starting XI.”

Robinson added: “I’ve obviously worked with Bernie in the past, I know what he can do, and I think he’ll fit in well with this team.
“Bernie’s played more than 100 times in the Hyundai A-League, so he brings plenty of experience with him which is important.”
Ibini won the Foxtel Y-League Golden Boot in 2010/11 and became a regular pick for Central Coast Mariners the season after under Socceroos coach Graham Arnold, scoring 7 goals.
In 2012/13, Ibini scored another 7 goals and helped the Mariners lift the Championship.
He is also a 2016/17 Premiership and Championship winner with Sydney FC, and boasts a 2019 K-League winner’s medal with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
