Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the departures of scholarship players Mo Adam, Fabian Monge and Noah Pagden.
The players have had their contracts terminated by mutual consent following their desire to step away from professional football to focus on family and study.
One of the first signings for the Wanderers Academy, Pagden was promoted to the senior team in October 2019 on a scholarship contract, and made his senior debut in a friendly against Leeds United in July 2019.
Pagden captained the Young Socceroos to victory in the AFF Under-18 Championship in 2019.
Pagden thanked the club and will take some time to focus on his studies, majoring in property economics.
“Following a number of conversations with the club I have decided to step away from football for a while and focus on my studies,” said Pagden.
“I’d like to thank the Wanderers, I’ve had a great time at the club and made some lifelong friends.”
Monge joined the Wanderers Academy for the 2017/18 Foxtel Y-League season from Marconi Stallions.
The talented midfielder scored on his Wanderers Y-League debut in Round 1 of the competition and was a member of the Wanderers squad that won the 2018 Foxtel Y-league Grand Final against Melbourne City.
Monge was named Foxtel Y-League Player of the Year in 2019 after helping lead the Wanderers Foxtel Y-League team to back-to-back Grand Final appearances.
Monge thanked the club for his time in the Red & Black.
“I’d like to thank the club for the last couple of years, it’s been a pleasure and an honour representing the club where I come from in Western Sydney,” said Monge.
“I’ve learnt so much and I would like to say thank you to all the staff and players for all their support and help along the way.”
Mohamed Adam was promoted to the first team from the Wanderers Academy where he had been a force to be reckoned with, scoring 21 goals in 19 games for the club’s National Premier League 2 side in 2019.
The Western Sydney product featured heavily in the club’s 2019/20 campaign playing 19 games and scoring one goal.
Adam said he looked forward to watching this season as a fan and focusing on his bachelor of commerce degree.
“I made the decision to take some time off to help out with the family at home and focus on my studies,” said Adam.
“I’ll always keep the door open to return to the club one day and I’ll be watching on again as a fan this season.”
