Macarthur FC and Wellington Phoenix meet for the first time on Saturday afternoon, with both sides looking to bounce back after losses in Matchweek 2.
Ante Milicic’s A-League newcomers impressed in their opening game of the 2020/21 campaign by defeating Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0, but losing to Central Coast Mariners in Matchweek 2 took the shine off Macarthur’s bright start to the season.
Wellington, meanwhile, suffered defeat at the hands of Sydney FC after a bye in Matchweek 1, extending their winless run in New South Wales to six games.
It’s a hoodoo the Phoenix will need to shrug off if they are to succeed this season after relocating to Wollongong for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign, and there’s no better time than the present for Ufuk Talay’s side to register a drought-snapping win in NSW when they wrestle the Bulls at Campbelltown Stadium.
