It’s all starting to come together for Jay O’Shea in Brisbane, as the Roar midfielder scored a stunning goal against Adelaide United to continue his rich vein of form and clinch Goal of Matchweek 6.
The Irishman seemed to display everything except the final product in his first season in the A-League in 2019/20, producing countless nearly-moments to score but producing just the one goal from the spot throughout the campaign.
The creative midfielder got off the mark in 2020/21 with a stunning strike from distance against the Reds; it comes as a reward for O’Shea’s excellent start to the season as the Roar moved to three wins from four games and equal on points with Central Coast Mariners who occupy top spot on the A-League table.
One touch put the ball on his right, and the next put the ball in the top corner of goal. James Delianov stood no chance at all as O’Shea’s shot dipped and curled around his outstretched glove and rattled the back of the net.
