As things stand, there have been 337 goals scored across 98 matches this season at an average of 3.44 goals-per-game – more than any other campaign in the history of the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Competition | Games played | Goals | Goals-Per-Game |
Australian A-League Men | 98 | 337 | 3.44 |
English Premier League | 238 | 767 | 3.22 |
Dutch Eredivisie | 189 | 606 | 3.21 |

That figure eclipses the 3.17 goals-per-game averaged during the 2015-16 season, which saw 444 goals scored across 140 fixtures.
If you compare that figure to the major leagues across Europe, the A-League Men stands at the top, just ahead of England’s Premier League, widely considered the best league on the planet.
But it’s not only the goals per game that is on the rise in the Isuzu UTE A-League this term – it’s also the drama.
