But for the 2.5% of fantasy managers who have the Western Sydney Wanderers forward in their teams, they are reaping the rewards now.

After scoring the winner against Western United in Round 14, Brook scored twice in the Wanderers’ last-gasp 4-3 defeat to Macarthur FC in Round 15.

It gave him a 33-point haul – only bettered by two other players last week, which his best return of the 2023-24 season.

So, make that three goals in two matches for the former Brentford player, who has almost doubled his season average of 8.1 points with 16.0 over the past three matches.

There were none better than Central Coast Mariners gun Angel Torres and Macarthur FC’s French star Valere Germain in Round 15.

Thanks to a double matchweek, Torres topped the fantasy charts with 38 points after his quick-fire double in a 4-0 rout of Adelaide United on Saturday before Tuesday’s entertaining 0-0 draw with leaders Wellington Phoenix.

Only Sydney FC’s Joe Lolley (230) has tallied more total points than Torres (213) so far this season as the Colombian forward takes the competition by storm.

Like the Mariners, Torres has been in red-hot form with four goals in as many games which has seen his value skyrocket to $573k.

The former Porto youngster, who has a three-round average of 24.0 – eclipsing his season average of 24.0, has netted 10 goals this season. It is the same amount as hat-trick hero Germain.

Germain settled Sunday’s showdown with 10-man Western Sydney in Campbelltown, where the ex-Monaco and Marseille star scored a 93rd-minute winner.

His first A-Leagues hat-trick resulted in his best fantasy score to date – 37. With four goals in two matches, he is still only in 4.3% of fantasy teams.

Meanwhile, Mariners defender Mikael Doka‘s season-best 33-point haul against Adelaide thanks to an assist and clean sheet earned him a spot in the Team of the Week.

The Brazilian, who has more than doubled his season average (5.2) over the last three rounds (16.0), still represents great value at $302.3k for fantasy managers out there.

Vine time!

Matildas star Cortnee Vine posted a season-best points haul of 29 thanks to her masterclass in Sydney FC’s 3-1 win over Perth Glory.

Vine walked away with a brace and an assist to lead the defending Liberty A-League champions to a statement victory in Round 15.

Canberra United legend Michelle Heyman, who has returned to the Matildas squad for the first time in six years, finished with 28 points thanks to her inspiring performance in the upset of Melbourne City.

Heyman scored and set up another to lead the Liberty A-League’s bottom side to a boilover against the league leaders.

An unlikely inclusion in the Team of the Week is City’s American defender Taylor Otto, who is listed as a midfielder in fantasy.

While Dario Vidosic’s City loss, Otto scored her first goal of the season at the death to bag 18 points – by far her best return, having managed nine in Round 10.
