Brisbane Roar star Jay O’Shea has signed a two-year contract extension with the Isuzu UTE A-League club.
O’Shea, who is in the process of becoming an Australian citizen, will remain in Brisbane until at least the end of the 2025-26 season.
The 35-year-old Irishman has made 111 A-Leagues appearances and scored 21 league goals since arriving in 2019.

A two-time Gary Wilkins Medallist with the Roar, O’Shea has been instrumental in Brisbane’s resurgence this season – scoring a team-high four goals in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
“Obviously, it’s a special place for me and my family, we took a chance coming here in 2019 and it’s worked out to be the best move of my life and for the family also,” O’Shea said.
“This contract now confirms that this will be the longest club that I’ve ever served at, so that’s really, really special for me and I think the most I’ve ever been at is about five years.
“This contract will take me up to seven years at the club, I’m really excited to extend this deal and keep doing really well for the club and hopefully get some success within the timeframe of this new contract.
“I believe in the direction that the club has gone and that’s why I’ve fully committed my future, it was never the case for me to try and look what was going to be available in January for me or anything else like that.
“Once I knew that the club were interested in signing me, that was all I needed to hear.
“I believe that we’ve got ourselves back to a standard now at the club and it’s up to us to keep us there and to push on and make sure that this club is successful again, and I really feel that, that’s the direction the club has gone.”
O’Shea’s re-signing comes after head coach Ross Aloisi departed to pursue an opportunity abroad.
Roar chairman and CEO Kaz Patafta added: “I am thrilled to announce that Jay O’Shea will continue to be a vital part of our team for another two seasons.
“Jay’s exceptional football ability, leadership and his unwavering commitment to the club have been instrumental in our success.”
