LIBERTY A-LEAGUE R8 TALKING POINTS: All-time guest stint creates major conundrum – but has the answer already been signed?
“We are pleased to be able to add Lilian to our squad for the rest of the current campaign,” Canberra United head coach Njegosh Popovich said.
“I’ve been watching Lilian in the Junior Matildas camp, and she is an extremely exciting prospect. She plays down the left side of the field, has tremendous pace, and delivers a particularly good set-piece ball.
“I have no doubt that she will thrive in this environment. We have a noticeably young average age at Canberra United, and I am certain that Lilian can add something to our group as we push for success.”
“I am very excited to have been signed by Canberra United for the rest of the Liberty A-League season and can’t wait to get involved with the squad whether training or playing,” Skelly said.
“There are amazing players at this club who I can learn off, and the team have such a great set-up and coaching staff. They play at a wonderful venue, have magnificent supporters, and give young players an opportunity.
“I am thoroughly looking forward to my time in green!”
Canberra are bottom of the standings through eight rounds – nine points adrift of the top four, though they have two games in hand.
