Filip Kurto – Macarthur FC
- Price: $332K
- Ownership: 11%
- Average points: 9.1
Could Macarthur experience the famous new manager bounce in Round 14?
If so, gloveman Filip Kurto could be one of the key beneficiaries of Mile Sterjovski’s takeover from the departed Dwight Yorke.
Kurto is the most valuable goalkeeper in the game, having scored 109 points at an average of 9.1 per-game heading into the weekend. Both he and the Bulls face Western United in Round 14; John Aloisi’s side have scored six goals in seven games, and haven’t scored more than one goal in a single game since mid-November, 2022. Kurto will fancy his chances of keeping his sheet clean against the reigning champions.
Callan Elliot – Wellington Phoenix
- Price: $374K
- Ownership: 2%
- Average points: 7.2
Wellington Phoenix are on a tear of form heading into Round 14 and a home clash against Perth Glory, and young full-back Callan Elliot is beginning to show his worth as a genuine fantasy asset as a result.
Three of Elliot’s five single-round scores over 10 points have come in his last four appearances, including an equal season-best in Round 13 of 15 points. Elliot has four assists on the board this season and is beginning to show his with as a consistent fantasy asset moving into the second half of the season.
Ryan Williams – Perth Glory
- Price: $265K
- Ownership: 2%
- Average points: 6.0
A first goal in six games was just reward for Ryan Williams in an immense display against Melbourne Victory in Round 13. The former Portsmouth and Oxford United winger is back in his hometown and reaping the rewards in 2022-23, becoming a pivotal figure in a stong run of form put together by the West Australian side.
Williams is a low ownership (2%), affordable ($265K) fantasy prospect who can free up funds for premium purchases in other areas of your fantasy squad should you elect to bring the in-form wide-man into your squad for Round 14.
Jay O’Shea – Brisbane Roar
- Price: $424K
- Ownership: 7%
- Average points: 9.0
Jay O’Shea has a three-game scoring average of 11.3 – on par with Adelaide United star Craig Goodwin, the highest points scorer of the season to date.
The Roar creator has dropped below five points in a single round on only one occasion (Round 3); with the Roar preparing to face Newcastle Jets (with a league-worst goal difference of -10), O’Shea will look to continue to make his way up the total points leaderboard in Round 14 as the eighth-highest scorer league-wide prior to this weekend.
Jacob Dowse – Perth Glory
- Price: $225K
- Ownership: 0%
- Average points: 5.3
Perth Glory’s Jacob Dowse is quickly becoming head coach Ruben Zadkovich’s super-sub in the 2022-23 campaign.
If looking for a differential fantasy selection ahead of Round 14, Dowse – with an appetising $225K price tag – could fit the bill.
And don’t be put off if Glory’s team sheet for Saturday afternoon’s clash with Wellington Phoenix features Dowse amongst the substitutes. In his last two appearances he’s earned his side points off the bench, assisting David Williams’ last-gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Sydney FC before providing Adam Taggart with a brace off two late assists in a 3-1 win over Melbourne Victory.
Dowse has scored 28 fantasy points across his last two fixtures combined with individual scores of 13 and 15 in succession.
