We’re already halfway through the Westfield W-League season and remarkably there’s a three-way tie at the top of the table after seven rounds.
And with just three points separating first and sixth, there’s sure to be plenty of twists and turns to come.
It’s no surprise to see Matildas superstar Sam Kerr in contention for the Golden Boot award, though it’s one of her Glory teammate’s who is currently leading the way.
At the midway point of the campaign, we take a look at the players dominating the key stats across the competition.
GOALS
Perth Glory’s American import Rachel Hill leads the way in the race for the Golden Boot with seven goals to her name.
Sam Kerr continues to breathe down her neck with five goals, while Victory’s English striker Natasha Dowie also has five.
ASSISTS
With Perth Glory leading the charge on 15 goals this season, it’s no surprise that midfielder Nicola Bolger has notched a league-high three assists for the campaign.
Adriana Jones (Adelaide United) and Ashleigh Sykes (Canberra United) both have two assists in five games for their respective sides.
SHOTS
Again it’s Glory’s Hill at the top of the list, firing off the most shots with 25 in six games.
Dowie is not far behind with 22 shots, while Kerr has managed 21 but her tally has come from just four appearances in Glory colours.
CHANCES CREATED
Melbourne City’s Kyah Simon leads the pack at the halfway stage of the campaign, creating 24 opportunities for her side.
The in-form Hill is next best with 17 chances created, with Newcastle Jets forward Jenna Kingsley third, helping her side with 14.
CROSSES
Again Simon tops the list with a sensational 62 crosses from her six outings with City.
It’s a Brisbane Roar double-act to round out the top three, with Carson Pickett and Katrina Gorry both sending in 38 crosses for Mel Andreatta’s side.
PASSES
With Melbourne City having making more than 700 passes than the next best side in the W-League, it’s no surprise their players dominate this category.
American import Lauren Barnes leads the way with 444 passes, ahead of Japanese star Yukari Kinga and Westfield Matildas defender Alanna Kennedy, who have both notched 359 passes.
SAVES
Canberra United may currently sit sixth on the Westfield W-League ladder but goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer has made the most saves, with 24 to her name so far this season.
Victory’s Casey Dumont and Glory’s Melissa Maizels are not far behind, sitting together on 22 saves from six appearances.
