Western United will return to Tasmania for three games across the Liberty A-League and Isuzu UTE A-League in January-February.
The Victorian A-Leagues club has staged seven professional fixtures on the Apple Isle in the past three seasons and will bump that number to 10 on return to North Hobart Oval.
In the Isuzu UTE A-League, Western is set to host Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, January 27 and Sydney FC on Saturday, February 3.
On the second weekend of Western’s visit for two men’s fixtures, the club’s Liberty A-League outfit will arrive in Tasmania for the third fixture in the tour.
Kat Smith’s side, currently third in the Liberty A-League, will take on Central Coast Mariners on Saturday, February 3 in the inaugural meeting between the two clubs.
Western United executive chairman Jason Sourasis expressed his delight at returning to Tasmania for the three-game tour.
“We are delighted to be returning to Tasmania this year and I am looking forward to once again seeing all of the support from the football community there,” Sourasis said.
“A big thank you goes to the Tasmanian State Government and Football Tasmania for their ongoing support. The relationship that we have built has been outstanding and we are proud of our ability to bring football to a brand new audience down in Tasmania.
“We can’t wait to bring three more exciting matches of elite football to North Hobart Oval, and hopefully everyone in the community can come together and enjoy it.”
