Mark Rudan’s troops will take on the Warriors at the City Vista Pavilion and Sports Field at 7pm next Tuesday, September 3.

While there’s still more than six weeks until the start of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season, you can be sure Rudan will be looking for improvement from his side in every outing.

The club made a strong start in their first-ever match last Thursday night, a 4-0 win over Carolina Springs George Cross in front of more than 3000 supporters.

Exciting young attacker Valentino Yuel – who signed for United in March from Bentleigh Greens – etched his name into the club folklore by scoring the club’s first ever goal with a bullet first-half header, while Connor Pain, Dylan Pierias and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos also got on the scoresheet.

Ersan Gulum was handed the captain’s armband by Rudan while marquee men Panagiotis Kone and Alessandro Diamanti also started.

Western United will play their first ever Hyundai A-League match away from home against Wellington Phoenix on October 2013 in a match that sees Rudan face up against the team he guided to the Finals Series in 2018/19 before walking out with a year on his contract.
