Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed the departure of head coach Alen Stajcic effective immediately.
The decision was officially made on Tuesday following a disappointing run of results which sees the Wanderers sat last on the Isuzu UTE A-League ladder.

With just 12 points from 13 games the club has opted to make a change now, with an interim successor set to be appointed ahead of this weekend’s clash with Perth Glory at CommBank Stadium.
The Wanderers most recent result saw them go down 2-1 at home to an in-form Newcastle Jets side.

Despite sitting last on the ladder Stajcic’s side’s problems lay in attack this season rather than in defence, having scored just 10 goals in 13 matches – the worst record in the competition.
In a bid to rectify their striking woes veteran Japanese striker Hiroshi Ibusuki was signed during the mid-season transfer window, with the former Adelaide United and Western United striker making his debut during that loss to the Jets.

Stajcic departs the club effective immediately as does assistant Nahuel Arrarte, who has worked alongside the now former head coach at several clubs.
The former Matildas head coach joined the Wanderers ahead of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season and guided the club back into the Finals Series during his only full season in charge.
