Western Sydney Wanderers have signed 21-year-old winger Ben Holliday ahead of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Holliday joins Alen Stajcic’s Wanderers after a stint at NPL Queensland outfit Moreton City Excelsior where he played a key role in a run to the Australia Cup Quarter-Finals.
Holliday scored in his side’s stunning come-from-behind win over Perth Glory in the Round of 16 to help the NPL outfit reach the final eight where they ultimately succumbed to Melbourne Victory 4-0.

Capable of playing left-wing and left-back, Holliday caught the attention of the Wanderers through the club’s Australia Cup campaign where he proved he could match it with Isuzu UTE A-League opponents.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Ben to recognise his progress throughout 2024 in the Queensland NPL,” Stajcic said.
“Especially throughout the Australia Cup, Ben displayed an ability to be effective especially against NPL and A-Leagues opponents.
“We see great potential in him as he looks to continue his development as a footballer and now as a professional for the first time in his career.”
Holliday joins Bozhidar Kraev, Jeong Tae-wook (loan), Jordan Holmes, Juan Mata, Dean Pelekanos and James Temelkovski as the seventh new arrival at the Wanderers this season. Upon his departure from the NPL, Holliday expressed his gratitude to Moreton City for aiding his development into a player ready to step up to the Isuzu UTE A-League.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity and really excited,” he said. “It hit me when I was driving 10-11 hours from Brisbane with my whole life in my car and I was just really excited.
“All the boys have been very welcoming and the environment has been positive so far. I’ve enjoyed training and this is my first time in the professional scene so I’m buzzing.
“I want to thank (head coach) Alen Stajcic for putting the trust in me, I’m obviously coming from the National Premier League and this is the opportunity of a lifetime. I want to take this and put my best foot forward.
“I want to say thank you to Moreton City they’ve been great over the last couple of seasons in creating an environment for me to play the best football in my career and get this opportunity as well.”
