What a week it has been for Kosta Barbarouses.

On Monday, Barbarouses scored to help New Zealand qualify for their first FIFA Men’s World Cup since 2010.

Fast forward to Saturday and the Wellington Phoenix great created history in the Isuzu UTE A-League.

His assist in Wellington’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers saw the Phoenix star overtake Adelaide United legend Craig Goodwin for the most assists in league history with 46.

The 35-year-old teed up Portuguese team-mate Francisco ‘Chico’ Geraldes in the 70th minute at Sky Stadium.

Earlier this season, Barbarouses scored his 100th Isuzu UTE A-League goal to join an exclusive club.

He became the first New Zealander in the league’s history to reach the century mark, joining Jamie Maclaren, Besart Berisha and Bruno Fornaroli as the fourth player to achieve the feat.
