Will 2025-26 be the season of redemption for Wellington Phoenix?
Following an historic semi-final run two seasons ago, the Phoenix struggled to match the heights of 12 months earlier after finishing outside of the top six amid a host of high-profile departures and other hurdles.
While club great Kosta Barbarouses and experienced defenders Scott Wootton and Sam Sutton have departed Sky Stadium, Wellington have brought in Nigerian forward Ifeanyi Eze and Canada international defender Manjrekar James to accompany seasoned A-Leagues players Carlo Armiento, Nikola Mileusnic and Ramy Najjarine, and NPL star Dan Edwards, who has signed his first professional deal aged 27.
They all compliment and exciting cohort of academy graduates who are a year wiser after having a taste in 2024-25.
