WATCH: Peruvian community’s warm welcome for new A-Leagues star goes global

Sydney FC’s new star Piero Quispe touched down in Australia on the weekend amid much fanfare.

Quispe will spend the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 season on loan at Sydney, who have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign from Mexican giants Pumas UNAM.

The 24-year-old Peru international’s arrival in the Isuzu UTE A-League is a statement signing.

On Sunday, Quispe landed at Sydney International airport to a warm welcome from a host of Peruvian fans with drums.

The scenes also caught the attention of fans, pundits and journalists across the globe.

Quispe and Sydney FC kick-off their Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 campaign away to rivals Adelaide United in Round 1 on October 17.
