Sydney FC sent an ominous warning to the rest of the Hyundai A-League with a 5-0 hammering of Western Sydney Wanderers in the Derby on Saturday night.
And if not for Wanderers keeper Vedran Janjetovic, Sydney could have really put their cross-town rivals to the sword.
Polish winger Adrian Mierzejewski starred for the Sky Blues in a man-of-the-match performance, netting two fabulous goals including a stunning free-kick.

Incredibly, Sydney were without Johnny Warren Medallist Milos Ninkovic but showed their incredible depth with a energetic and ruthless display at ANZ Stadium.
Graham Arnold’s side sit five points clear atop the Hyundai A-League ladder after 10 rounds, and are already a staggering 17 points ahead of the Wanderers.
The win was the Sky Blues biggest ever in a Sydney Derby.
