Fresh from scoring the Isuzu UTE Goal of the Week in Round 1 of the new 2025-26 season, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder’s remarkable start to life at Newcastle Jets continued on Friday night with a spectacular strike from distance against his former side, Melbourne Victory.

“Take a bow, Alex Badolato!” Said Paramount+ co-commentator Daniel McBreen as the young Jets star wheeled away in celebration.

Badolato’s Friday-night banger continued a dream year for the Young Socceroo, who was named Most Valuable Player at the 2025 AFC Under-20 Asian Cup in China as Australia won the continental title in March.
In mid-October, Badolato was named AFC Youth Men’s Player of the Year; he’s since scored two special long-range goals in his first two Isuzu UTE A-League appearances for Newcastle.
