US players in Westfield W-League: star performers in Round 11

It was another massive weekend in the Westfield W-League, with several US stars stealing the show with some superb performances in Round 11.

Here’s a wrap of how some of the Americans playing in the Westfield W-League performed over the weekend.

DANIELLE COLAPRICO

Struggling Adelaide United pulled off one of the upsets of the season, with Colapricoa big reason why.

She stepped up in the 21st minute and dispatched one of the goals of the season, which lead the Reds to their second win of the 2017/18 campaign.

Her sweetly struck free kick from 20 yards out curled over the wall and into the top corner.

KATIE STENGEL

Although on the losing side at the weekend, Stengel continued her superb goalscoring form this season, scoring a deflected goal from 30 yards out.

Stengel is now just one goal off the top of the scoring charts behind Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr.

Stengel will be hoping to continue her scoring form for the remainder of the campaign to inspire the Jets to the finals.

HALEY KOPMEYER

Canberra United remained undefeated in 2018 after a 2-0 win at the weekend.

And Kopmeyer was once again was in the thick of the action ensuring her side kept their clean sheet intact.

The Westfield W-League’s busiest goalkeeper was in fine form during their clash against the Western Sydney Wanderers, saving an Ellie Brush header on the line, and making two crucial close range saves in injury-time.
