Friday’s women’s double-header concludes with Western Sydney Wanderers’ home clash with Brisbane Roar while in the men’s, Allianz Stadium plays host to an F3 Derby between Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners.

The F3 Derby is a key fixture on the 2024 ‘Unite Round’ agenda.

The Mariners are reigning Isuzu UTE A-League Men Premiers and Champions and have enjoyed a recent dominance over their local rivals, winning eight of the last nine F3 Derbies.

The Friday night encounter between these two great rivals promises to be one of the highlights of the weekend.

Saturday, November 23: Two Finals rematches and a Sydney Derby

The two Liberty A-League Women Unite Round fixtures on Saturday, November 23 take on a Finals Series flavour.

Both Newcastle United v Western United and Central Coast Mariners v Melbourne Victory are repeat fixtures of the 2023-24 Elimination Finals, when the Jets shocked Western in a 3-2 extra-time triumph and the Mariners beat Victory in a dramatic penalty shootout highlighted by former Victory keeper Casey Dumont’s heroics for Central Coast.

Dumont scored a penalty and saved three as the Mariners knocked Victory out of the Finals Series.

In the Isuzu UTE A-League, Brisbane Roar v Adelaide United kicks off the action in the afternoon at Allianz Stadium, before the big one: Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers at night.

The Sky Blues won two of three Sydney Derbies last season, with the Wanderers claiming three points in the first instalment of one of the blockbuster fixtures in any A-Leagues season.

The first Unite Round Sydney Derby of its kind promises to be a belter for fans of the Sky Blues and Wanderers, as well as Roar and Adelaide supporters who remain at Allianz Stadium at the conclusion of the afternoon fixture.

Sunday, November 24: A Grand Final rematch to savour & Auckland’s Unite Round introduction

Sydney FC won their second-consecutive Championship in 2023-24, surprising Premiers Melbourne City in Melbourne in a 1-0 win that will still be fresh in the memories of City head coach Dario Vidosic and all of his players returning for another season at the club.

Sydney v City is the final Liberty A-League Women game of Unite Round and will take place at twilight at Leichhardt Oval after the afternoon matchup between Canberra United and Perth Glory.

Canberra and Perth have served up some of the highest-scoring games in the competition’s history and this season, the two old foes will meet in Unite Round – an occasion which Canberra delivered in last season, when captain and club legend Michelle Heyman became the first player in Liberty A-League history to score 100 career goals in the competition.

In the Isuzu UTE A-League, Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne Victory start Sunday off with a bang in a repeat of last season’s Semi-Final matchup.

Victory won that two-legged encounter 2-1 to knock out the favoured Phoenix and Giancarlo Italiano’s side will be out for revenge in ‘Unite Round’ at Allianz Stadium.

The twilight fixture sees Macarthur FC host Isuzu UTE A-League newcomers Auckland FC in the Kiwi outfit’s very first Unite Round fixture.
