Devout Hyundai A-League fan Lee Sutherland has taken a road trip to a whole new level.
Over 10 days, Sutherland-s group of eight people are touring half of Australia. They will experience the exciting atmosphere of four A-League matches featuring Brisbane v Central Coast (8 October), Gold Coast v Wellington (9 October), Adelaide v Melbourne Victory (14 October), Melbourne Heart v Perth (16 October) and Socceroos v Oman World Cup qualifier in Sydney (11 October).
In between planning this first ever unique trip for Hyundai A-League fans, the General Manager from Football Fans Downunder spoke to footballaustralia.com.au about Fans in Vans.
“It-s pretty much a rough guide to football in Australia, said the northern England born Hyundai A-League fan. “We want to experience and enjoy away games, on a budget and see what the city has to offer.”
“I-m looking forward to meeting and interacting with the supporters, having a drink with them beforehand and getting involved with what they experience regularly in their stadium.
The 37-year-old is looking to convert members of the touring party to Hyundai A-League supporters, as three follow another football league and one doesn-t even watch the sport at all.
Keep up to date with Sutherland-s 5,500km journey and from 8-16 October, footballaustralia.com.au and a-league.com.au will feature daily video blogs and an online diary.
Remember, WE ARE FOOTBALL.
