Matildas midfielder Taylor Ray is among six players set to depart Sydney FC at the conclusion of the club’s Championship-winning Liberty A-League campaign.
Ray, 23, departs with 64 appearances at the Sky Blues to her name, to go with two Championships and two Premierships and a pair of U20 Women’s Player of the Year awards at the club.
Ray is joined by Darcey Malone, Zara Kruger, Lucy Johnson, Teigan Collister and Aideen Keane in departing the club after the 2023-24 Liberty A-League Championship win.
“My journey with Sydney FC is definitely something I will hold very close to my heart where the club was my family growing up into the person and player I am today,” said Ray.
“I am very grateful for the incredible players I’ve been able to play alongside and to have met some of the most amazing people who I can proudly call my best friends.
“To Ante, the squad all the Sydney FC staff a massive ‘thank-you’ for supporting me in the Sky Blue for the last seven seasons.”
Sydney head coach Ante Juric thanked the six players for their contribution to this season’s Championship as he bid them farewell.
“I would like to thank each of those players for their efforts this and all previous seasons and wish them the best in the future,” he said.
“It was a long and very hard year with a lot of travel, and they all played an important part in their own way, in our Championship win.
“They should all be very proud of how they contributed and what they achieved.”
