Twin sisters Melissa and Adriana Taranto have recommitted to Western United for a third-straight Liberty A-League season.
The Taranto twins were foundation Western United squad members in 2022-23 and will continue to enhance their respective legacies at the club in the 2024-25 campaign.
Both Melissa and Adriana rank inside the club’s top-four all-time Liberty A-League appearance makers and will both add to their tallies as Western target another push to the finals under head coach Kat Smith.

Western United General Manager of Football Mal Impiombato hailed the Taranto twins as priceless members of the club’s Liberty A-League squad ahead of season 2024-25.
“Both Mel and Adriana have been significant players in building our women’s program from the beginning with their attributes as people and footballers,” he said.
“Having people like them is priceless for us as we strive for ongoing success in the Liberty A-League and they remain two incredibly important players in our community.
“Much-loved and well respected by their peers and by our fanbase, we are delighted to retain them both and look forward to their ongoing contributions as we set ambitious goals in the women’s space.”
The Taranto twins have joined Young Matildas star Kahli Johnson in re-signing for the club ahead of the 2024-25 season. Hannah Keane and Stacey Papadopoulos have both departed the club; former Canberra United duo Chloe Lincoln and Sasha Grove are the only two new arrivals confirmed by the club to date.
