Kevin Muscat labelled it the mark of “a proven winner” and even Besart Berisha’s son tried to copy his outrageous late winner against Adelaide United.
The star striker lashed in a stunning overhead kick to lead Melbourne Victory through a tense Elimination Final on Sunday night.
He could hardly have timed it better, capping the come-from-behind 2-1 win just as the game ticked toward extra-time.

Berisha’s incredible technique and sense of occasion prompted a swell of plaudits on social media and from his thankful manager.
“Bes didn’t have too many all night. Probably the most difficult chance he’s had in a long time he found an unbelievable finish,” Muscat said.
“In these games, in finals especially, he’s a proven a winner. I’m really pleased for him.”
