Sydney investigate Reddy’s ‘misconduct’

Sydney FC has discontinued its proceedings in relation to the Breach Notice under clause 6.1 (a), (b) and (c) of the FFA Code of Conduct issued to Liam Reddy for admitting to being drunk on the flight to New Zealand last week.

Sydney FC have changed tack in their punishment of Liam Reddy, and are investigating whether the goalkeeper’s recent behaviour represents “serious misconduct”.

The club had been set to take action under the FFA Code of Conduct after Reddy admitted admitting to being drunk on the flight to New Zealand ahead of the Sky Blues elimination final loss to Wellington Phoenix.

But, based on “additional information”, Sydney are now looking into whether Reddy breached his Standard Player Contract with the club,

Reddy has been issued with a further notice and directed to attend a meeting at the club’s offices on Tuesday morning to respond to allegations relating to serious misconduct.

Sydney FC will make no further comment on the issue until after the meeting.
