The 26-year-old earned himself a move overseas off the back of blistering 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season with the Newcastle Jets where he scored 17 goals.
That form was also enough to secure Stamatelopoulos his first and only Socceroos cap to date, where he played for Australia in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Palestine.
“I’m extremely excited to join Sydney FC — the biggest club in the A-League with a winning culture and high expectations,” said the striker.
“After my time overseas, this is a fantastic opportunity for me and one I’m ready to embrace.
“There is still over a third of the season to play and I’ve come here to challenge for places, contribute goals and help the team push for the A-League title.
“I can’t wait to get started and play in front of the Sydney FC Members and fans.”
Stamatelopoulos arrives in Sydney on Wednesday night and will train with his new team mates on Friday morning for the first time.
