“I went to shoot in the first half and there was a collision between me and the defender,” the Englishwoman said.
“I played on until the 85th minute and really didn’t think anything was wrong.
“It was very painful the next day and I had to go for an MRI which did not show good news.”
Worts joined the Sky Blues ahead of the 2023-24 campaign and she had scored three goals in six appearances for the defending champions.
The 27-year-old will now be a in a brace for six weeks before commencing rehabilitation.
“I’m feeling generally optimistic,” Worts said. “It’s one of those things and I’ve been quite lucky with injuries so far in my career.
“It is what it is and I’ll get back fit soon and deal with it. It’s nice to be able to do rehab while we are in the season and be not on my own.
“When I come back will depend on how the recovery goes.
“Hopefully I’ll be back in time for the Finals Series and maybe even score the winner in the Grand Final.”
