Sydney FC captain Natalie Tobin announces pregnancy

Sydney FC Captain Natalie Tobin has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Will.

The Sydney FC skipper is the club’s most decorated player and is due in June 2026, meaning she’ll be unavailable for selection for the remainder of the current Ninja A-League season.

Tobin, 29, revealed the news on Friday, describing the moment as a special milestone for the couple.

“This is such a special and exciting time for Will and I,” she said.

“We’re absolutely over the moon and so grateful for the love and support we’ve received from everyone at Sydney FC.

“The club is such a big part of our lives and it means a lot to be able to share this moment with our Sky Blue family.”

One of the most accomplished players in Sydney FC history, Tobin has won seven trophies and six individual awards across 13 seasons. She has captained the side for the past five years, setting high standards both on and off the field.

While Tobin will no longer be available for match selection this season, she will remain captain and continue modified training under the guidance of the club’s medical team. She is also expected to play a key leadership role, mentoring younger players, supporting the coaching staff, and fulfilling ambassadorial duties.

Head coach Ante Juric said the club was thrilled for Tobin and her family.

“We are absolutely delighted for Natalie and Will on their joyous news and wish them all the very best as they begin this incredible journey towards parenthood,” he said.

“Natalie has been a fabulous leader for this football club… Her experience, knowledge and leadership will be of enormous value to our playing group and staff.”

The couple’s baby is due in June, with Tobin targeting a return to playing in the 2026–27 A-Leagues season.
