Will Sydney FC return to the Isuzu UTE A-League’s top six this season?
While the Sky Blues enjoyed an historic run to the AFC Champions League Two semi-finals in 2024-25, they agonisingly missed out on a spot in the domestic competition’s Finals Series for the first time since 2022 and for the sixth time in the club’s 20-year history.
Ufuk Talay’s Sydney head in 2025-26 on a mission. Despite parting ways with Brazilian superstar Douglas Costa, the Sky Blues have still recruited strongly by bringing in the likes of Peru international Piero Quispe, former LaLiga striker Victor Campuzano and ex-Fenerbahce defender Marcel Tisserand to compliment young guns Paul Okon-Engstler and Abel Walatee as well as former Western United captain Ben Garuccio.
Re-signed: Gus Hoefsloot, Alex Grant, Wataru Kamijo, Rhyan Grant, Aaron Gurd
New arrivals: Al Hassan Toure, Rhys Youlley, Akol Akon, Mathias Macallister, Paul Okon-Engstler, Marcel Tisserand, Piero Quispe (loan), Victor Campuzano, Abel Walatee, Ben Garuccio
