Many big names are back in action this week and it’s a weight off many a fantasy coaches shoulders.
Round 11 of A-League action sees plenty of stars return to the Hyundai A-League and thus the Fantasy fold, and it makes me truly happy to see them back.
The last couple of weeks have seen some of the competitions biggest names out of action and it-s wreaked havoc upon my fantasy team, and perhaps yours as well.
Alessandro Del Piero, Dario Vidosic, Archie Thompson, Liam Miller, Tom Rogic and Aaron Mooy are just some of the names that have been MIA, but this week they all come back and it makes playing fantasy a lot easier.
No more scrambling to field a team and that should see an upturn in scores across the board as coaches get to pick from the cream of the fantasy crop.
Speaking of cream of the crop and it rising to the top, how has it come to be that so few players have Adelaide-s Argentine sensation Marcelo Carrusca in their side?
167 is the number of fantasy players that have him in their team and while it-s obvious that Dario Vidosic is the Reds star of choice for many fantasy league coaches Carrusca is as they say in business a point of difference, and a valuable one at that.
Carrusca has class, of that there is no doubt, Galatasaray once signed him to a respectable deal and had it not been for being on the outer with the football department he could still be there.
He-s not though, he-s in Adelaide and of late he has been carving it up for the Reds, and doing so while being only 75 per cent fit according to an Adelaide United spokesperson. Imagine what he could do if fully fit?
There is plenty to like about the Argentine midfielder and with John Kosmina-s men playing an increasingly attacking style he might just be ready to become a fantasy goldmine.
Furthermore they should account for the misfiring Phoenix this weekend and continue on their merry way as they fight the Mariners in the race for the top spot on the ladder.
Speaking of top spots on ladders, yours truly has the No1 ranking in eliminator tipping on this site. Nine matches straight, with only the Wanderers left to pick, I-ll be nervous, looking for that perfect ten during the Sydney Derby.
One suggestion I do have this weekend is to again stack the team with Glory players, they are more than overdue for a win and the Jets are traditionally poor at nib, add to that all the reports swirling around about the ownership of the club and the perceived problems Nathan Tinkler is having and the players- mind-s may not fully be on the job.
Buy: Marcelo Carrusca $267,500 Buy him for all the reasons above, point of difference, attacking midfielder, can score goals, Reds flying high, reasonably priced.
Sell: Andrew Nabbout $253,400 The Victory-s rising star has proven himself to be an out-and-out goalscorer, but with Archie Thompson and Mark Milligan coming back into Ange Postecoglou-s side his chances along with his game time might be set to become much more limited. If you have had him since day dot, you have just about doubles your money; so sell him and go buy yourself something nice, after all tis- the season.
