Brisbane Roar re-sign four players

Fan favourite Henrique is one of four players who have today put pen to paper and signed on at Brisbane Roar.

The Slippery Fish, who returned for his second stint in Queensland back in February, will join defenders Jacob Pepper and Daniel Bowles, as well as goalkeeper Brendan White at the club next season.

Affectionately known to the Roar faithful as ‘Riki’, the second-highest goal-scorer in Brisbane Roar history is delighted to continue in orange.

“I’m extremely happy to be staying in Brisbane. I love being part of this club that I can call family,” the attacker said.

“I believe we have a strong team, great staff and the most beautiful fans in Australia.

“I want to thank John and the coaching staff for having faith in me. I’m hungry to be part of a successful 2018/19 season!”

Pepper, who traditionally played as a holding midfielder and re-created himself as a central defender during 2017/18, will join Bowles in the heart of the Brisbane backline next campaign.

“I’m very excited to extend my career in Brisbane and know I will continue to improve and learn under the guidance of [Head Coach] John [Aloisi] and our coaching department,” Pepper said.

“I’m really happy to re-sign. I love playing for the club, our supporters and with this group of players,” Bowles added.

“I can’t wait for pre-season to begin and challenge for the title in 2018/19.”

Goalkeeper Brendan White, who featured on the bench for 24 matches during the 2017/18 campaign, will don the gloves again next campaign.

“I’m excited to continue my football journey with my hometown team and be part of the Brisbane Roar family,” White said.

“It’s a great club with such a strong goalkeeping fraternity and I’m looking forward to a successful season.”

With the season only recently drawing to a close, Head Coach John Aloisi says it’s great to have the services of four key players confirmed for the upcoming tilt at a fourth Hyundai A-League Championship.

“We’re continuing to plan and build a strong group that will challenge for a fourth Championship in season 14.”
