Ex-Premier League midfielder Jay O’Shea is Robbie Fowler’s latest Brisbane Roar signing.
O’Shea, 30, is the ninth arrival this week for Liverpool great Fowler and comes to Queensland following a stellar campaign with England’s Bury FC.
The former Irish U23 international scored 15 times for The Shakers, helping the club win promotion to League One and earning himself a pair of League Two player of the month awards, and a spot in the League Two Team of the Year along the way.

“It was exciting when I got the call from Robbie Fowler, being a Premier League legend,” O’Shea told the club’s website.
“I then spoke to a few of the Irish players who have played in the league, including Roy O’Donovan and they couldn’t rate it highly enough and said I would be crazy to not take the opportunity.
“It made the decision really easy – a lot of people I have spoken to really recommend the A-League. It’s a great competition and fantastic opportunity for myself.”
Principally an attacking midfielder, O’Shea – who made one Premier League appearance for Birmingham City in 2009/10 – can also operate in any position along the front line.
