Sydney FC’s signing spree has continued with coach Steve Corica the latest to commit his future to the club.
Corica, who guided the Sky Blues to the Championship during 2018/19, his first season in charge, has signed a two-year contract extension.
The Sky Blues confirmed the major coup on Thursday, tying the 46-year-old to the club until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 Season.
“These are very special times to be involved with Sydney FC and I’m certain there will be many more memories and good times ahead,” Corica told the club’s official website.
“We have a fantastic culture right throughout the club and my own staff and players play a huge part in that.

“They are a pleasure to work with every day and they show the utmost professionalism in everything we do, which is why I had no hesitation in committing my future here.
“We’ve a long way to go this season but I’m confident we are on the right track to achieve more success and we have the right players on board to do that.”
Corica’s retention comes in a week where the Sky Blues have also re-signed playmaker Milos Ninkovic and left-back Michael Zullo.
Things are certainly going swimmingly for Sydney FC right now, retaining the bulk of their squad while sitting five points clear at the top of the ladder.
Corica, who played 32 times for the Caltex Socceroos, was a foundation player for the club and scored the winning goal in the Grand Final in the inaugural 2005/06 Season.

His success has transferred into the senior coaching role, winning more than half (30) of his total 52 games in charge.
Corica has also notched up 26 wins in 40 Hyundai A-League games which is currently the best win percentage (65%) of any coach in the competition’s history (to have been at the helm for more than 10 games).
“Steve has done an excellent job as Head Coach and we are delighted to keep him at Sydney FC,” Chairman Scott Barlow said.
“He is one of the key driving factors in our recent successes and he has helped establish a strong family culture within the club.
“His progression from player and Captain to Assistant Coach and now Head Coach encompasses the very essence of what it means to be part of Sydney FC and our family values; and we are confident he will continue to bring success and silverware to our club.”
