Wanderers too classy for 10-man United 58
Radoslaw Majewski and Daniel Georgievski starred as Western Sydney Wanderers pummelled 10-man Sydney United 7-1 in Campbelltown, the club’s highest scoring match in history.
-
Majewski’s deflected cross was expertly dispatched by Kamau on 16 minutes before Georgievski and Kwame Yeboah put Markus Babbel’s side in cruise control.
- United 58 were kept alive by young ‘keeper Daniel Sadaka’s brilliance and enjoyed a mini-revival after Patrick Antelmi won and converted a penalty.
- However, a horror own goal from Matthew Bilic and a red card brandished to ex-Wanderer Yianni Perkatis saw the 2014 AFC Champions League winners take full control.
- Tate Russell added a scorching fifth, Majewski opened his Wanderers account with a screamer and Georgievski sealed a double as the Red and Black marched into the last eight.
Oh. No. ?
A horror own goal to hand @wswanderersfc a 4-1 lead.

Birighitti the penalty hero after cup epic
Central Coast Mariners emerged penalty shootout victors over Brisbane Roar in a classic see-sawing cup tie which doubled as Robbie Fowler’s first home match in charge of the Queenslanders.
- Alen Stajcic’s Mariners opened accounts via Matt Simon’s penalty, after the skipper was pulled down in the area.
- Brad Inman restored parity for Brisbane 62 seconds after the half time interval but it looked as though Samuel Silvera has sent the Mariners through after tucking home Simon’s unselfish pass for his first professional goal
- But the match swung again when Roy O’Donovan – who had earlier missed a sitter – buried a penalty the Irishman had won after some smart penalty box play.
- Neither side could break the deadlock in extra time, with Mariners shot stopper Mark Birighitti coming up with the spot-kick crucial saves from O’Donovan and Roar captain Tom Aldred.
The moment @CCMariners qualified for their first #FFACup Quarter Final in five years! ?

Delic hat-trick helps Hume through
Former Melbourne City youth Marko Delic scored the 10th FFA Cup hat-trick as Hume City beat Adelaide Olympic 3-1.
-
Olympic midfielder Mamadi Kamara broke the deadlock and sent Valo Football Centre into meltdown with a stunning solo goal which left a trail of Hume defenders in his wake.
- City equalised 10 minutes later via teenage striker Delic after Olympic had failed to clear Steven Hewitt’s corner.
- Delic struck again to put the 2015 Semi Finalists in front by converting Daniel Dixon’s cutback unmarked at the back post, and put the game to bed with another poacher’s effort to book the NPL Victoria side’s Quarter Final ticket.
The solo goal was stunning – and Kamara had a celebration to match! ?

Richardson header helps Strikers into eight
Brisbane Strikers followed up their Wellington Phoenix giant-killing and secured a maiden Quarter Final ticket by edging Manly United 1-0 at Perry Park.
-
Strikers enjoyed the better of the first half with 41-goal NPL Queensland Golden Boot leader Andrew Pengelly registering his interest.
- Brisbane capitalised on their dominance by hitting the front on the hour mark when Richardson looped Jacob McLean’s deep free kick over Manly ‘keeper Dylan Mitchell.
- Midfielder Scott Halliday was sent off in stoppage time for his second yellow card but Brisbane held on to enter the final eight for the first time.
