Yokohama F.Marinos’ Australian contingent is growing following the arrival of former Adelaide United assistant Ross Aloisi.
Aloisi makes the move from the Isuzu UTE A-League to the J1 League as part of Kevin Muscat’s coaching staff in Japan.
Muscat’s staff already boasts senior assistant and fellow A-Leagues alumnus Shaun Ontong, while countryman Greg King is also physical performance coach.
Ange Postecoglou previously guided F.Marinos to the league title in 2019, with Aussie counterparts Peter Cklamovski (Montedio Yamagata head coach) and Arthur Papas (now Newcastle Jets head coach) part of his staff alongside with King. Jon Hutchinson also worked alongside Postecoglou and Muscat before leaving for El Paso Locomotive in the USL.
Former Adelaide captain Aloisi, who also served as an assistant coach at Brisbane Roar from 2015 until 2019, is embarking on his first coaching journey abroad.
The 48-year-old joins the J1 League runners-up, who are fourth in the standings.
Muscat’s F.Marinos will also come up against A-League Men outfit Sydney FC in the AFC Champions League group phase this month.
