Brisbane Roar and Matildas ace Sharn Freier will miss the rest of the Ninja A-League season after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
The 24-year-old forward sustained the injury during the Round 15 clash against the Central Coast Mariners at Spencer Park and will now be sidelined for a prolonged period of time.

Freier is set to undergo surgery in the coming weeks, and a rehabilitation program is set to commence immediately after the procedure.
The injury marks the second time Freier has damaged her ACL having also succumbed to the same fate back in 2022.
“We are all heartbroken for Sharn, especially after already experiencing an ACL injury a few years ago,” said Brisbane Roar Head Coach, Alex Smith.

“We will all be there for Sharn whatever she needs.
He added: “We look forward to seeing Sharn back on the field, but we are determined to continue excelling during this campaign and have full belief in our squad.”
The Roar currently sit second on the Ninja A-League ladder after Wednesday night’s impressive 3-1 win over Sydney FC at Leichhardt Oval.
Currently seven games unbeaten, Smith’s Roar side face a top of the table clash against Melbourne City on Sunday at ctrl:cyber Pitch.
