The 2nd leg of the AFC Champions League Final between Adelaide United FC and Gamba Osaka on November 12 at Hindmarsh Stadium is fully subscribed.
The remaining three and a half thousand tickets for the match were sold within an hour of going on sale to the general public at 9am this morning.
Patrons were lined up as early as 4.30am out the front of Adelaide United-s office and Venue*Tix outlet on Manton Street in order to secure one of the highly sought after tickets to the historic match.
One of those first supporters that managed to secure a ticket said, “I-ve been waiting since 4.30 this morning. I didn-t think I would need to be here that early but my friends convinced me to come along and I think it-s worth it now because the line is massive,” he said.
“It-s one of the best things to happen in Australian club football, it-s just huge. The Asian Champions League Final, around a billion people watch it and it-s in little old Adelaide, so you can-t complain about that.”
The club is unable to confirm any future release of tickets at this time.
Tickets however are still available for Adelaide United-s Hyundai A-League match against Melbourne Victory this Friday night (31 October) and can be purchased through Venue*Tix.
Adelaide United reached the AFC League Final after defeating Bunyodkor/Kuruvchi 3-1 on aggregate in the Semi Finals.
The first leg of the AFC Champions League Final will be played in Osaka on Wednesday, November 5 before the return leg at Hindmarsh Stadium on November 12. Kick-Off for the home leg is at 7.30pm (ACDT).
