Skenderovic, an Asian Football Confederation and Football Federation Australia ‘A’ Licensed coach, will assume the role as Head Coach of Adelaide United’s Westfield W-League squad and the Club’s National Youth League (NYL) team.

Most recently, Skenderovic was Head Coach of the Dandenong Thunder in Victoria’s National Premier League in 2016, while in 2012 was Head Coach at Oakleigh Cannons in the Victorian Premier League.

Prior to his spell with the Thunder, Skenderovic was the Assistant Head Coach at Indian Super League (IPL) club FC Goa, working alongside Brazilian legend, Zico.

Skenderovic was also Technical Director of Ajman Football Club in the Arabian Gulf Pro League from 2012 to 2015, Technical Video Analyst for the United Arab Emirates U17 national squad in 2014, and Technical Consultant of Dempo Sporting Club in the IPL.

Speaking on his new position, Skenderovic said he was excited to be joining Adelaide United’s Football Department, and is looking forward to his new challenge.

“It is a fantastic feeling to have joined Adelaide United and it’s a very proud moment for me,” he said. “I’m really excited to be part of this club and I can’t wait to get going.

“What we want to achieve is great football through the many different aspects of the game.

“This will include the technical development of players, to physical developments too through football conditioning and building good characters within the game that can play the style of football the Club is wanting to implement.

“These are all major parts of the game and things that I firmly believe in when it comes to developing good quality footballers.

“When it comes to the NYL, I want to continue the great work that’s been established already within the Club and take the next step in improving our players.

“And the same goes for the W-League as well with the side really pushing to make it into the finals and then achieving even greater things from there.”

United’s General Manager of Football, Ante Kovacevic, said he’s confident that Skenderovic will be able to bring out the best in both the Club’s Westfield W-League and NYL teams.

“Huss is a very knowledgeable football coach and someone that comes highly recommended,” Kovacevic said.

“He has worked at many different levels of football in a broad variety of roles in Australia and overseas and has built up a thorough understanding of the essential components of the professional game.

“Huss will continue to implement the same style of football that our men’s team produces and I’m sure our W-League and NYL teams will benefit from his experience.”
